Emily Everhard is a queer writer, director and actress who tells stories about female underdogs and outsiders.

She was 2024 Sundance Fellow and Enderby Filmmaking Fellow. Emily's films have played & won awards at festivals including Aspen ShortsFest, Palm Springs ShortFest, Austin Film Festival, HollyShorts, BendFilm, Nashville Film Festival, Cleveland International Film Festival, Key West Film Festival and more. Her work has been supported by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Catwalk Institute, King Family Foundation and more.

As a pre-teen, Emily starred in a CBS sitcom and appeared in various film and television productions on ABC, NBC and FOX. Emily studied at Dartmouth College (BA, History) and Columbia University (MFA, Screenwriting / Directing). Emily's worked on documentaries for Netflix, Sundance/AMC Channel, and PBS. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Emily pulls from her documentary fieldwork and under-appreciated historical moments to craft unique narratives set within subcultures and niche communities. She often uses humor to explore body autonomy, identity, and love. For “fun,” Emily is training for her first marathon.
